Catalog matching
Know exactly which item each SKU is. Every SKU can be matched to its Amazon listing by barcode, and records and CDs to their exact Discogs release, with a person confirming each match.
Discogs release matching, for records and CDs
A bare SKU with a hand-typed title isn’t enough to list cleanly or to price against the right market. Matchers search Discogs for the exact release, and you confirm the right one.
- Barcode first. A known barcode is looked up directly.
- Catalog number. Matched on the release’s catalog number, sharpened when the artist also agrees.
- Artist and title. Searched together, so a missing format hint never buries the right release.
- Messy titles. “Artist - Album - Colour Vinyl - Format” is cleaned down to the artist and album before searching.
- Ranked with reasons. Up to five candidates, each with a confidence score and the fields that agreed.
The review queue
- What’s worth doing now. In-stock items that aren’t listed anywhere come first.
- Candidates side by side. Year, country, format, label, catalog number and cover for each, with a link to the release on Discogs.
- Confirm in one step. Accepting a candidate links the SKU and marks it confirmed, which listing requires before it will publish.
- Paste a release. When the matchers miss, paste a Discogs release link to match a SKU, or to replace a wrong match.
- Clear the rest. Mark a SKU as not on Discogs, skip it for later, or mark it as not a record or CD.
- Fix a bad match safely. Unlinking or replacing a match also pulls or flags any eBay listing built on it, so wrong details don’t stay published.
Amazon listing matching
- Weekly proposals. Products you stock but don’t list on Amazon are looked up by barcode, and candidate listings are proposed.
- Compare by eye. Your product and each candidate are shown with images side by side, with a link to the live Amazon page.
- Approve or dismiss. Approving records the match with who made it. “Not on Amazon” stops the product being proposed again.
- Your own listing when nothing fits. If no candidate is right, create your own Amazon listing for the product from the same screen.
Facts, not fabrication
Once a Discogs match is confirmed, the full release is fetched and becomes the source of listing details on Amazon, Shopify, eBay and Walmart. Only fields from that release are used. Nothing is made up to fill a gap.
