Terms of Service

For installed merchants, the in-app Terms of Service at
/app/legal/terms is the authoritative version.
The service
Colorful Backup & Restore automatically backs up your Shopify store's products, their variants, and their product metafields, keeps version history while you are subscribed, and lets you preview and restore earlier versions. "Unlimited version history" means we do not cap the number of versions during an active subscription, subject to fair use: the service is for a single store's ordinary product catalog, not bulk data warehousing.
Plans and billing
The Free plan covers stores with up to 100 products. Paid plans ($29/month or $290/year) are billed through Shopify's billing system and can be cancelled any time from your Shopify admin; cancellation stops future charges and moves you to the Free plan's limits. If a charge fails, your backups keep running while the subscription is paused.
Restore is a tool you operate
Restores are initiated by you, with a preview shown first and a safety copy of the current version saved before any change. You are responsible for reviewing the preview and for the resulting state of your store. For new accounts we may require a guided first restore with our support team before enabling one-click restore.
Data & uninstall
Our Privacy Policy is part of these terms and acts as the data processing agreement between us: we process your store data solely to provide backup and restore, on your instructions, with the safeguards described there. On uninstall, data is retained 30 days and then permanently erased from the database and object storage.
Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (for Free-plan stores, $100). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data caused by factors outside the service's control (for example, Shopify API limitations documented in-app, changes made between a backup and a restore, or force majeure).
Termination & changes
You can uninstall at any time. We may update these terms with notice via the app or email; continued use after notice is acceptance. We may suspend service for abuse, non-payment, or legal necessity.
